Zechariah —
Zechariah encouraged returned exiles to trust that God was still fulfilling His covenant promises. Through vivid visions, the book looks beyond their unfinished work to the coming Messiah—the humble King, the faithful Shepherd, the One who would be pierced, and the Lord whose Kingdom will endure.
Malachi —
Malachi closes the Old Testament by calling God’s people away from spiritual complacency and back to sincere worship and faithful obedience. The book ends with the promise of a messenger who will prepare the way for the Lord, leaving the Old Testament not in silence, but in hopeful expectation.
The Old Testament —
The Old Testament is not thirty-nine unrelated books, but one unfolding story of a faithful God who creates, calls, rescues, restores, and keeps His promises. From Genesis to Malachi, every section prepares us to see the larger story of redemption and the fulfillment that comes in Jesus Christ.
From Promise to Fulfillment
The Torah includes Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. These five books introduce the Creator, explain humanity’s need for redemption, reveal God’s covenant with Israel, and lay the foundation for the story that ultimately leads to Jesus Christ.
