Unplug to Reconnect
Unplugging Allows Us to Make Space for Peace, Prayer, and Presence.
The Christmas season can be noisy. Our phones ding with sales, social media scrolls fill with pictures of decorated trees, and the to-do list grows longer each day. But too much noise drowns out the joy.
Like a radio filled with static, sometimes we need to turn down the volume to hear the music clearly.
Technology is a helpful tool — but it should never master us. By setting boundaries and unplugging, even for an evening, we make space for peace, prayer, and presence.
“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.” — Mark 1:35
Establish a peaceful, Christ-centered atmosphere in your home during the busy holiday season.
Jesus often withdrew from crowds to be alone with His Father. If He needed quiet space, how much more do we? Choosing stillness in Advent helps us hear His voice again.
Screens and schedules will always clamor for our attention. But unplugging reminds us what matters most. When we choose to disconnect from the world, we reconnect with God and one another.
