Keep Walking with Jesus

You have reached the final pages of this Bible Companion, but I hope you have not reached the end of your journey. In many ways, this is only the beginning.
From Genesis to Revelation, we have walked together through sixty-six books written over many centuries by many different authors. Yet together they tell one remarkable story—the story of a loving Creator who never abandoned His creation, even after sin entered the world. It is the story of promises made, promises fulfilled, and promises that are still awaiting their glorious completion. More than anything else, it is the story of Jesus Christ.
From the very beginning of Scripture, we catch glimpses of the One who was to come. He is the promised offspring who would crush the serpent's head, the Passover Lamb who brings deliverance, the greater Prophet like Moses, the Son of David whose kingdom will never end, and the suffering Servant foretold by Isaiah. In the Gospels, we meet Him as the Good Shepherd, the Bread of Life, the Light of the World, and the resurrection and the life. We see Him as the Lamb who was slain, the risen Lord who conquered death, and finally the King of kings who declares, "Look, I am making everything new." Every page of Scripture points us toward Him.
Although the Bible contains history, poetry, prophecy, wisdom, letters, and visions, it is not sixty-six separate stories. It is one great story. It begins with creation, moves through humanity's fall into sin, unfolds God's covenant promises, reveals the coming of Christ, continues through the age of grace, and concludes with the promise of a new heaven and a new earth. Every chapter moves God's plan forward until the day when He dwells forever with His redeemed people.
The Bible begins in a garden where humanity walked with God. It ends in a glorious city where the Tree of Life grows once again and God dwells with His people forever. What was lost in Genesis is fully restored in Revelation through Jesus Christ.
If there is one encouragement I hope you carry away from this Companion, it is this: keep reading your Bible. This book was never intended to replace God's Word. Its purpose has simply been to introduce each book, provide historical context, and help you see how every part of Scripture fits into God's wonderful plan of redemption.
Read slowly. Pray before you begin. Ask questions. Compare Scripture with Scripture. Most of all, keep your eyes on Jesus. The more you come to know Him, the more clearly you will understand the rest of the Bible.
Jesus never invited people merely to learn information. He invited them to follow Him. The Christian life is not simply about gaining knowledge; it is about knowing Christ. As you continue reading Scripture, allow His words to shape your thoughts, His example to guide your life, and His love to transform the way you treat others.
There will be seasons of joy and seasons of sorrow. There will be questions you cannot yet answer and passages that require careful study. Do not be discouraged. The same Holy Spirit who inspired the Scriptures continues to help believers understand and live God's Word today. As you continue walking with Christ, you will discover that each time you return to the Bible, familiar passages reveal new depths of God's wisdom, grace, and faithfulness.
The Bible does not end with an ending—it ends with a promise.

The story is not over. Jesus Christ is alive. He reigns today. He is building His Church and calling people from every nation to Himself. One day He will return to establish His kingdom in all its fullness and make all things new.
Until that day, may we remain faithful. May we love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and love our neighbors as ourselves. May we walk humbly, serve generously, forgive freely, and live each day with joyful hope. And may we never lose sight of the One to whom all Scripture points.
As you close this Companion and continue your own journey through God's Word, my prayer is not simply that you understand the Bible more clearly, but that you know Jesus more deeply. The purpose of every page of Scripture is not merely to increase our knowledge, but to draw us into a closer relationship with the One who loved us, gave Himself for us, and invites us to follow Him.
May the Lord bless you as you continue to read His Word. May He give you wisdom as you seek His truth, strengthen your faith through every season of life, and fill your heart with the peace that comes from knowing Jesus Christ. And may the hope of His promised return encourage you each day until the moment faith becomes sight.
